Thapaswini Poonacha

Thapaswini Poonacha is an Indian actress and model from Virajpet, a town in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. Born on August 1, she began her career in Kannada cinema with the 2022 film Harikathe Alla Girikathe (HKGK), where she played the role of Kushi Jokumaraswamy alongside actor Rishab Shetty. Poonacha’s entry into the industry was unplanned, and she had little formal acting training when she received the offer. However, she embraced the opportunity and has since grown passionate about pursuing acting professionally. Educated at the IIBM in Bengaluru, Thapaswini has a diverse set of interests, including Kathak dance and rifle shooting. She has also explored other dance styles like belly dance and classical forms, which helped her perform on stage during school and college. This background contributed to her early interest in cultural activities, setting the stage for her future in the arts.
