Lowndes was born in 1988 in Vancouver, British Columbia and attended Pacific Academy in Surrey. Lowndes has stated that she knew from an early age that she had a passion for singing and acting. Lowndes also produced much of her own music from an early age. During the summer before her senior year of high school, Lowndes worked on a project for Showtime. With encouragement from her parents, Lowndes moved to Los Angeles at the age of 16 and began her career.
